launching & shifting point of a GSR
is there a basic shift point that all cars should go by according to where they make the most hp or torque??? either way what rpm range should i be lkaunching at and where should i be shifting???

on a stock GSR the highest torque made is at 6400. a good way to launch is to rev up to 7grand and drop the clutch. That is one way for a stock GSR. My car is bone stock too. All i have is a SRI, and i can get the jump on a lot of people that way. Since you have a perf. clutch already, it should launch even better. just experiment and you'll get it.

that guy doesnt know what hes talking about. 7k drop of the clutch will yield nothing but wheelspin. i agree with one thing though. 7k is a great place to launch but you have to slip the clutch not drop it.

dropping the clutch means just letting it off. you do that with slicks cause they can hold the power to the ground.
slipping it means easing the clutch out slowly maintaining traction while holding the car near its peak torque area. when i slip the clutch there is a fine line between wheelspin and excessive wheelspin. its ok to have a little but when smoke starts rolling off the tires its excessive. i just went out to the backroads and practiced. with a 00 SI motor though like i had in my car the clutch is really weak. my clutch got too hot and started stinking. had to go home and let it cool off.
