This has probably been asked a million times, but after a 20-min search through the forums and several websites conflicting information, I am still stumped as to what precisely the size of the speakers are in my 1991 Accord SE. My questions are as follows:

1) What are the exact sizes of the front and rear speakers?
2) What are the exact mounting depths for the front and rear speakers?
3) I have heard the fronts are 5", an unusual size that I am having trouble finding to buy. Would the mounting bracket hold a 5-1/4" speaker? Does anyone perhaps have a link to a quality replacement 5" speaker (hopefully component)?

I am also getting conflicting information. Any chance you can just remove the door panel and just take a look?

I have never heard of a 5" speaker, only 5.25". :thinking:

If you are even a bit handy, you can make new brackets by cutting some baffles out of wood. They are just simply a ring that will hold the speaker, and also screw onto the metal of the door.

you have 6 1/2 in front and 6x9's in back. you should be able to put most speakers in since honda's give you enough depth to mount speakers. you can check out crutchfields speaker guide to help you figure out what size you need.

crutchfield comes up with *zero* matches for front speakers, which is what confused me to begin with.

Crutchfield says that the 5.25" or the 6.5" can fit. When I search for my own car, it says that either can fit also...but I know for sure a 6.5" wont fit.

Well now people are saying 6 1/2 fits, 6 1/2 doesn't fit, the Polk site lists 5 1/2 needing modification.. does anyone actually own the 91 accord SE and replaced the front speakers and remember?
