Default for the New York Integra owners...

does anyone from New York know if a JDM motor will pass emissions tests inn a 96? I hear the wiring for the check engine light and pretty much everything else is entirely different and very hard to get it to pass emissions tests in New York. Does anyone have or know of any truths to this? thanks

Hey both the jdm and usdm motors are the same crap. As long as everything is wired up right you should have no problems. Depending on what harness you are using you should'nt have to mess around to much. Goodluck.

how much wiring is there?? is it a pain in the ass? is it actually worth the extra 10 horse it gives you over the usdm motor?

Arent the JDM 96 motors OBD1, and the GS-R 96 US motor switched to OBD2 that year?

If thats the case the OBD1 wont pass emmisions in a shell thats made for OBD2 (1996)

Yes. No matter what motor you get it will work. you will be ok. Just make sure that whatever your new motor does not have that the old one did just swap it over. You can take a 90 ls and put it in a 00 and as long as everything needed is hooked up you will be fine.
