Smell through ventilation system
At times my 1994 Acura Integra produces a smell similar to hot brakes that comes through the ventilation system. The smell does not always occur, but seems to occur the most with the heat on. Brakes are never hot or dragging when this occurs. I can smelll it when I lift the hood, but cannot pinpoint where it is coming from. If I had to say I would say the smell is coming between the firewall and engine, when I look under the hood. The car is an automatic!
Could a bad Cat Converter be the culpret?

No oil leak anywhere that I can see.
I guess a bad Cat converter would produce more of a sulfer smell not like a hot break or clutch smell, but I am at a loss. The breaks do not smell when the ordor occurs and the car is an automatic; so no hot clutch smell.
I am dumb founded, or just dumb hahahhahahh
