Rattling noise at approx 2000 rpm ???????????

It appears to be coming form the left front area.
exhaust rattling sounds very close.
the trans might be slipping a little but would it be the same problem?
when i feel it slipping i'll just accelerate and i won't feel it.

I don't think transmission slipping will make rattling noise.... With that many miles and age, everything is an suspect for rattling. I guess the only thing you can really do is to put the car on the lift and look for obvious, such as rusted exhaust hanger, missing rubber thingy that hangs from the hanger and holds the exhaust pipes, etc, etc, etc....
Sorry, can't do much more than just guess....

I lifted the front wheels and accelerated it up 4th gear and it didn't rattle at all.
I'm gonna visually inspect under the front end and check the exhaust all the way to the back.
Thanks

That sounds like a loose exhaust heat shield. I know ALL about that from my old Volvo. The noise on mine was incredibly loud sometimes and faded in and out, but sounded just like what it is: a lightweight metal part vibrating against another metal part. The only option that I had was to cut it off since the metal is way too weak to have spot welded.
I would look there.

My '94 LX Wagon suffers from a loose catalytic converter cover and does exactly what you describe.
I wrapped an old coat hanger around it. That keeps it quiet for about a year. Then I go under the car and fix it again.
