stick with the b18c5!!!!!! k20 is really expensive if your going to spend that type of money just buy rsx....... when you add time and money it'll be about the same price if not cheaper.........

i checked out both prices for the k series and the b series and where i plan on getting it it is only a 1000 different. is the k more powerful and is an ivtech. not really sure what that is, but they both say 220 hp but the k has a six speed tranny dont know if the b does or not how will that affect my acceloration.

Changing your car into something that it isn't, and will never be is so incredibly foolish.

Here is a huge thread that went on recently in the Integra forum about this same exact topic: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=217067

You should realize that you can make that GSR outhandle and faster than a Type R for lot less money than doing half of the conversion and it won't say "STEAL ME" like the Type R does.

Default motor talk

even if i dont do the front end swap my motor still has a lot more miles than i want on it. and i still want the performance of the itr. i dont want to rebuild back up a motor that has been used and abused. but all that conversion stuff out of the way lets just talk about the motor. if and i use if loosely!, you had the money what would you get. the b18c5 or the k20 ivtech both jdm cause i found both for similiar prices and i know that one of the places is a reliable source cause i already did en engine swap on my now broken down 89 integra. motor did not break it stll runs meaner than ever and its only a 1.6, but anyways back to choosing a motor. i heard that the b18c5 has 220 to the flywheel and about 195 to the wheels but on the other hand i heard that the k series will put down 220 to the wheels. also have some friends that say i should get the k because it is an i-vtech. i am look to buy the engine and tranny in may hopefully so i still have alot of time to think about it. really dont want to rebuild my old motor. when i lived in mississippi before the hurricane i raced a car that had a type r under the hood with a spoon ehaust and i just fell in love with the power and its mean sound

its VTEC not VTECH u not buying a phone, those numbers u are quoting sound far fetched.. but besides, that u will have to do a lot of modification to get that k in there different motor mounts and so forth the list goes on and on, wiht the b18c5 would be more of a drop in motor with less headache.

The B18C5 is rated at 195 hp at the crank.

The K20a is rated at 220 hp at the crank.

Expect at least 15% drivetrain loss and you have the wheel hp numbers. Also, expect to pay around $8k+ for a full K20 swap. For that, you could rebuilt your current motor, turbo it, and run circles around a K20 swapped Integra any day.

check out this site www.japanmotorimport.com it seems that the swap comes with everything u need except installation for 5500. the place i was going to have put it in was called Noyan USA in manasses virginia for 1000. they have the b18c5 engine and will put it in for 5500 altogether. if u have a motor for them to put in your car they still only charge 1000. so as far as i can see it is only a 1000 dollars difference. so with this what do u think. whatever your replies will be much helpful thanks.http://www.japanmotorimport.com/inve...php?EngineID=2
