Default 1988 accord running problem

this has probably been asked a zillion times but...

this started about a week ago, i was waiting outside a grocery store then my car idled itself to a stall and wouldnt start for about an hour. when it started everything was fine for a couple days before it did the same thing again. yesturday i went to start it and it ran for about 10 seconds then died, and now it wont start at all. im getting tons of spark and have plenty of battery juice. ive narrowed it down to im not getting any fuel as ive poured about an ounce of gas in the carb and it started and ran for 5 seconds then died.
sooo.. could this be somthing as simple as a dirty fuel filter? i mean could a dirty filter actually prevent a car from starting? or would it more than likely be the pump or the main relay?

could be a number of things: catylitic converter has blockage, spark plugs, fuel filter, throttle body needs to be cleaned every 100k miles

hope that helps...

hey thx m8, im off to grab a set of filters as i tapped the one behind the wheel with a screwdriver and it started.. yeeha! guessing it shook some grit or whatever out of the line for the time being.

but yeah, what exactly is the purpose of the throttle body and where is located?
err, nm.. found it!
