Ok so a while back a friend gave me an extra ecu he told me it was from a 2000 SI so there for it should be for the b16 well i just won a b16a2 head from the civic si and im gonna do an ls/vtec but i need to find out if this is the right ecu to start with if im gonna get it chiped or what ever... he got it from the local junk yard and i dont know how to tell what its actually from cause it has a tag that says its from a 2000 civic but doesnt say what model... SI... soo this is what it says and hopefully you guys can help me out.

STOCK # TR1029 MODEL CIVIC
IC# 58202 ENGINE BRAIN BOX
DESCRIPTION ELEC CONT UNIT (ECU), (RIGHT F {...got cut off on the tag}
COMMENTS:
YR 2000
VIN: 1HGEM1159YL021645
LOCATED: HOLDD*

and then on the ecu its self it has in yellow paint marker tr1029 again and on the side it has a white tag with this on it...

Just a random shot in the dark, but I believe it is a 00-01 Si ECU.

If you have an OBd2b engine harness, you can use it. Otherwise, no, it is worthless.

Is your B18B obd1? Can you do an LS/VTEC with an obd1 block and obd2 head?

You are correct. P2T is 99-00 si ecu.

Yes, it is OBD2, but it is OBD2a which is completely incompatible with OBD2b. The ECU will not plug into your factory harness.

I would recommend an OBD2a or OBD1 P72 ECU since it will either directly plug into your harness or will plug in with a conversion harness and will run the vtec setup just fine.
