Anyone installed the Factory Door Edge Guards?
I may just install mine myself. Any time I see where you are supposed to use touch-up paint, I don't trust my dealer after they didn't paint the holes on my '01 before bolting the spoiler on.
It also says to cut the seam sealant away, not sure what is meant by that. Any one ever done this?

There is kind of a rubbery, body colored sealant on the inside edge of the door. You will need to use the small tool that comes with the door edge trim kit to remove the sealant where the trim pieces will go, otherwise the edge of the door will be too thick for the trim to be mounted and they won't fit. You'll only need to use touch up paint if you scrape the sealant down to the bare metal. I have the trim mounted on both my 99 and 02 Accords.

Yep, it will make the gap look bigger. Also, it makes your door looks like it's not closed completely. Dark colors are alright but silver, red and white, think twice before you put those edge guards on.

And the fenderwell trim? That's a must in my book. People open their doors and beat the hell out of that area on my cars.
Some people just don't care. Drives me nuts.

I think there might be a little confusion, but the factory edge guards are body colored and blend in with the car nicely. I have them on my silver accord and you can only tell up close. I have seen light colored cars with the black door trim that you can get from walmart and it doesn't look good.

Hmm, never knew that the OEM stuff was body colored, all I've ever seen is the black (maybe cause the OEM body colored stuff you just can't see unless you get up close).
In that case I could see doing it if you want.

Well, I got the edge guards and wheel well trim on tonight. Easy job. The edge guards are a perfect match. The wheel well trim is black, and with the black mudguards, and black mirror trim, it looks like it belongs on the car.
I would reccomend you remove the rear wheels to tap the rubber over the trim.
