Default How many miles should I changed the oil..I'm confused

I have a 2005 Accord LX 4Cyc and was wondering when I should do my first oil change during this break in time? I have read to leave the orginal oil in there until 4K and have also read change it at 1K.. I'm confused about when to change the break in oil..Thanks

I've ALWAYS changed new car oil at 500 miles. 500 miles is plenty of time to get all the metal shavings/debris, etc. from inside the motor and circulated into the oil. There's nothing wrong with changing oil more often rather than less often. So I say about 500 miles (equal to break-in period for almost any motor).

After the 1st 1,000 miles, do an oil change. During the break in period, you'll find the most metallic shavings.

Also, drain and fill 3qts of the auto trans fluid.

I'd encourage you to click the link I posted above and read through it. I believe this guy has it figured out and there are lots of other engine builders that suggest a very similar break-in. Decide for yourself, but at least read through it.
