Default lowering civic hatch...height?

After im fully done with my swap and turbo...and after my paint im going to be lowering my car. Right now from the previous owner it has Eibach springs on i believe OEM struts. Its not lowered very much at all if any it looks, but the ride is pretty rough on anything over 45mph on a bumpy road. And mostly all roads up here suck.

I will be running 16'' rota Grid rims...no idea tire size yet probably something in the effect of a 205/45/16. Thats what I had on my integra and it was plenty, never bent a rim and the ride really didnt change that much as opposed to stock.

I was wondering whats a safe height to drop the hatch at? Should i look into full coilovers or mix and match a spring with a shock? I know alot of people are going to say search, and i came up with alot of strut MFG's but every one in those threads said to pick a spring and then pic a shock so they work together.

I would like my car lower, but not slammed. I wouldnt mind it having the front bumper about 3'' off the ground with my 99-00 front end and a SI lip.

So far, the only suggestion i got at honda-tech is 3'' lowered with full omni power coilovers.

I wouldnt IMO.

I have Suspension Techniques springs w/ a 2.3" F and 2" R and I love it. I would only get springs if i were you, not coilovers. If you were to get coilovers, the ONLY ones I would get are GC w/ koni yellows or illuminas.

That really depends on the type of springs you go with. I would go with springs, not coilovers (too rough on a hatchie) If your on a budget, and not going too low, KYB AGX's are nice, but WILL bottom out on anything lower than a 2" drop. If you have a little extra cash, I would definitely go with either Koni Yellows or Tokico Illuminas (White ones) Both are 5-way adjustable and give a great ride.

I would like to keep it under the $700-800 range...i saw some koni yellows for like $280 for front and $270 for rear...or the other way around.

If i go with them whats a good spring? Ill probably be dropping in the 2'' range, probably no more really.

H/R Race is about 1.75 to 2 in drop and somewhat stiff, sports if you don't want it so low and you want a more comfortable ride.

To be honest w/ you dude, I love my Suspension Techniques Springs. 2.3" F 2" R matched w/ koni yellows or for a tad bit cheaper you can get illuminas. Both are 5-way adjustable and have a great rep. Neuspeed has also had a good rep w/ Yellows, but im not sure of the drop.

That price sounds about right for Koni Yellows. The cheapest I have ever found them is for $505 shipped.

i was reading over on honda-tech and some one said that 2'' drop with the koni yellows is about its max. Guess thats not really true then huh?
