Default adjusting the door hinges

I'm about to buy some hinges to replace the ones on my 92 hatch driver door. Do you guys have any tips to make the job easy?

I've always just done guess and check. It's nice to have some wood blocks to hold the end of the door up.

take off he fender and leave the door latched and in place. Swap them out one at a time and see how it does.

That sounds like a good way to start. My only concern is that the old hinges are so worn that the door is already low on the striker side. The hinges are on the way.

I replaced the top one on my 79 firebird when I was 18. That door was so heavy. The best we could get it left a large gap at the front of the door and made some wind noise.

my daily driver (95dx) is just about in need of a new door latch as well. It's slightly sagging, causing it to shut a little hard.. if i lift up on the end of the door while it's open, there is a little bit of play in it. 235k miles.. it's bout that time!
