1989 Prelude: Rebuilding Rear Calipers
Has anyone on this site ever rebuilt their prelude rear calipers?
In the rear caliper bores there is the parking brake adjusting a screw and nut. Over this screw there is an adjusting spring that my manual needs to be compressed before these internal parts can be removed from the bore. The manual says that a Honda special tool(a brake spring compressor) must be used to accomplish this task. I am curious if anyone here has had the experience of rebuilding their rear calipers and whether or not they used such a spring compressor to remove these parts from the caliper bore, or, did they just use some other method to extract these parts without the use of a spring compressor.
I appreciate the advise.
