Losing oil; 1990 Honda Accord
In less than 2000 miles I have added about 2 quarts of oil. The 1990 Accord has about 77,000 miles.
In the month that I have owned it, I have had smoke billow out the tail pipe twice. Otherwise, no visible smoke.
The car runs strong, gets 35MPG on the road, idles smooth and seems fine otherwise.
Had a suggestion that the valve guides might be worn. Have not done a compression check but would figure the car would suck on performance if the compression was bad.
Any ideas or experience?

Do a compression check to get a starting point, if you have no visible leaks anywhere that is. Take a good look at the plugs when you remove them and note if any oil or build up is on any of them and from which cylinder it came from.

do you have any visible oil marks where you leave your car?
if so, then you probably need to replace the gasket for the oil pan.
or the drain plug.
if not, go to a shop
