Default gsr s80 starter???? HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

are all gsr starters the same, the guy and advance auto parts told me that the Ls and Gsr 94-95 are the same, I bought a 1995 Ls/GSR starter and it went into the hole to meet up with the flywheel however the holes for the bolts to go thru into the block didnt line up at all. do i need a 96-99 starter or a 00-01 starter, or are the 96-01 starters the same???? Help me!! I need to start my car soon! Thanks

Ok. You have ls LS with a GSR motor & trans? Then you need a GSR starter from whatever year your MOTOR & TRANS are. If you have a motor swap, the specs of the old motor are moot.

If you can't determine this info on your own (seach HAN, Google), then take it to a mechanic.
