Default Most tire on the ground?

What is the widest/tallest wheel I can fit on my 88 CRX with no rubbing issues/ bad speedo issues/ artifical tall gearing issues? 15x7? The more rubber on the ground the better.

You can fit 215/40x16" tires on a 16x7" 42-44mm offset or 16x7.5" 42-43mm offset (pushing it) wheel. Speedo will be off.

You can probably fit 225/45x15" on the fronts and 205/50x15" on the rear of a CRX but it will be tail happy.

Thanks. I have a couple more. How wide are the stock tires in inches? They are 185/60-14 Also is there anyway to recalibrate the speedo? Would the 16's hurt acceleration significantly? And 16x7's with a 45 mm offset would have no rubbing issues?

16x7" 42-44mm offset
The 1st set of numbers on a tire is the width in mm. So convert to cm and 1 inch = 2.54cm

You can recalibrate the speedo but it's not worth it. Cause what's going to happen when you go back to stock size. 215/40x16" will throw your speedo off by about 5-10mph.

thanks. The only reason I asked about the 45mm is the rota slips which I like only come in that size. Which means that with that offset it'd probably hit the fender right?
