Default Question about turbos

Hi, I heard from someone that turbos "wear out" after some time. I was just wondering if this is really true or not. Thanks in advance!

Yes turbos wear out and/or break. Most can be easily rebuilt by shops.

if the turbo has water ports it'll help the life of the turbo to hook those up. also, properly letting the turbo cool down before shuttinf off the car will help the life.

but yes the seals will wear out and shaft play will develope over time

Turbo timers help out with the cool down time. I have a boosted ls and ive had mine for 8+ months now and it was used before i got it. I just got a new manifold so i took off the turbo and checked it out still looks great to me no shaft play at all....
