Default 1/4 mile, Car or me?

I looked online and my LS is supposed to do a 16.00 on the 1/4 mile stock. I took my car to the track (when it was completely stock) and the best I ever got it to do was a 16.3. My car did have about 85k on it though. I know i'm not a great driver but i'm ok. Is it the mileage or me?

What were your 60' times? Trap speed? What elevation? What was the weather like? How long have you been drag racing?

Many factors, as you can see, but it was likely you. Learning to get optimal times on the track takes a great deal of skill and practice.

I had been driving the car for about a year. I learned how to drive well enough that I didn't burnout off the line maybe just a slight slip and I could chirp the tires into 2nd. My older bro drove it too and he couldn't do any better.

air temp, reaction times and 60 ft. Elevation is also the key depending on where you are. Also your stock ls my dyno different that another stock ls. Sometimes some are a bit better than other, by a little bit.

west coast style was right on the nose.

R/T's have no bearing on your final time - FYI.

launch at 4k-4500. don't be affraid to launch it hard off the line. tire spin will happen, but the faster you get the car off the line, the better your time will be. launching at higher rpm's will get you in your tq curve faster. once the tires stop spinning, you will go.

i ran a 15.9 with my civic ex coupe, launching at 4500 and getting horrid wheelhop.

the est 1/4 mile times that u find in specs are on brand new or almost brand new engines with pro. drivers. if u got more then 30k miles on a car, even 85k miles, ur cars not going to run whats its suppose to just from normal wear in the engine.

In my experiences, the more you spin, the worse 60' you get. I got my best 60' bogging it off the line.
