Default anyone ever rebuilt an AC compressor?

A new or rebuilt a/c compressor for my wifes accord is expensive. Is there any way to take it apart and rebuild it yourself? Can that even be done? Does anybody know, or has anybody ever done that before?

Just wondering.

Did you check junk yards for a used compressor?

i dont want a junkyard compressor. i dont want to do the labor two times if osmething is wrong. i'd rather have rebuilt or new with some sort of warranty, or rebuild it myself. I've never had luck with junkyard compressors, EVER, so i dont use them anymore.

i need a compressor for a 92 honda accord EX. NIPPONDENSO type compressor.

how many miles are on your compressor? I'm trying to stay away from used ones if I cant help it. Ebay has some for like 150 shipped re-built.

I'll pass on the 90k compressor. I want to spend money on rebuilding my compressor, or buy an already rebuilt one. Thanks though. Like the original question says-

can I rebuild my own AC compressor, and if so, How?
