I've decided my first upgrade will be a new set of wheels to replace the stock alloys. Suspension, performance lowering will follow. I'm thinking about finding some white or silver 18 inch wheels to go with my black 2001 GSR. Looking at the O.Z. Superturismo GT set but have noticed they weigh almost 23 pounds. Too heavy? Mind you, I once had some 17 inch MOMO Racers that weighed almost 35 pounds!!!

15" or 16" rims r for performance, 17"+ for looks, obviously the bigger then rims the more they weight. they make 18" 4 lug rims? lol didnt know that. if u looking at weight and performance look into 15" or 16" rims instead...

18" is way to big for an Integra. The highest I would go is 16", especially if worried about weight and performance like you seem to be. Anything more is just for the bling factor.

...trying to find a balance between looks and performance. It's a street car so performance doesn't have as much weight in this equation. And , yes, 18 inch wheels can be found in the 4-100 bolt pattern

I'm just wondering how much unsprung weight is appropriate for a gen 3 Integra GSR - no one would argue with the performance benefits of an 18 inch wheel on an NSX but on a GSR??? That's what I would like to know.

PS if I was interested in auto crossing then I would pick up a set of ultra light weight 15 inch racing wheels, such as those offered by Volk.

You'll find the lighter the wheel the more expensive. Heavier wheels are cheaper. I had 16 inch velox VX8R'S on my car and they weight 35lbs w/the tire. I upgraded to 17's and they weigh 34lbs w/the tire & air, so go figure. The wheel itself is only 15.5 lbs. So if it is a heavy wheel you will most likely feel the drag. If it is light less effort will be required to turn them and you won't notice much of a difference.

the NSX is made for bigger rims, u can put 18s on anything u want to but it makes NO SENSE if ur doing performance, just go with 16s for performance shit. if u want it for looks get ur 18s

you can really feel the difference going from a heavier rim to a lighter rim. I went from 17'' Niche rims...which probably god near weighed 27-30 lbs each. Now im with my 16'' Rota c-8s, no idea what they weigh but i would guess under 20lbs each give or take and they are SOOOOOO much better. I will never go back to 17'' for anyother reason except show only. 18'' imo is a total wase of money unless the car comes with that size rim stock.

I think I'll go with a set of eye-catching 16 inchers (is that a word?!)

The more I think about it, the more I realize that taller wheels are relative to wider footprints. That is, more rubber traction made for a high torque machine - good for an NSX but useless on a GSR.

Besides, drop the car and even a 15 inch profile will look good. And there you have it: good grip, light rotation, and lower center of gravity.
