2.0 or 2.2?
I was looking fora new car and i ran across the s2000 hoe ever i was wonder waht to the the 2003- 2.0 or the 2004+ 2.2 i defnatly want to mod it. How ever if parts are coming out for the 2.2 then i would rahter have that. also with the new engine are there any other diffrences??

I Disagree, the 04+ are a little faster WOT from about 25mph+. Other than that, its about dead even. The 2.0L will pull at higher speeds. And in my opinion, the Ap1's are much more fun to drive.

Relevance is irrelevant
I do like the AP1's wheels a lot better, but a Honda salesman told me you can order those rims on a newer car... at a cost...
I've only driven the 05 but I can say that I absolutely love that car for what it is. It wont pull like a V8 or even a V6 where torque is concerned, but now I'm drifting away from the topic.......... honestly my main concern in buying an S2k would be the colors.

2.0 is the best with that extra 1k rpm id rather have the extra rpm then 15 hp anyday. And if ur goin to sup up the car then when u have the car runnin like 350 to the wheels ull be wanting that extra rpms.

The 2.2 is a far superior and more flexible engine...30-50 and 50-70 times are much, much improved and the engine no longer feels like a nice sounding civic below VTEC. Dynographs show that the new 2.2 puts out about 10 more horsepower and 10 more lb-ft of torque to the wheels.
However, I love the concept of 9000RPMs and would personally shy away from the new 2.2, much more torque or not. I think it takes away from the overall aura and feel of the car.

It depends on the driver.
I own an original 'S because I love the 9k redline. On the track you're above 6k so there is no major difference imo, but for daily driving the 2.2 may be a bit better. Less anemities in the 00-03s, especially the 00-01 years- but they are great!
Sure you have two less tweeters, no glass window, carpet console but it's still hardcore 9k.
