Default Need Some New Headers

Hey guys, I'm a first time poster here so I'll tell you a little bit about my background situation before I get to my question. My first car was 1994 GS-R and my dad ended up liking the car so much that he looked into them and found that they made a Type-R, which he eventually bought. I eventually sold my GS-R and as of last week bought the (1998) Type-R from my dad and what happens...the header breaks. So now I have to buy a new header ASAP but haven't done much research on them. Which header do you guys suggest me buying? Should I just order the stock part or is there a big difference with aftermarket headers? The car is all stock except a 5-Zigen Fireball cat-back exhaust system. I've looked up some MUGEN and TODA but they're $980 which I definately can't afford right now. I also looked into DC for $280 and Comptech for $480. Any information is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much guys!

I used the Megan Racing 4-1 stainless steel type-r header for $200 shipped. It's at www.robearracing.com

$200 total? That's an amazing price because I looked on King Motorsports, Mugen's official US supplier, and they list for $980. How's the overall performance of them?

he said MEGAN not MUGEN.

what are your plans for the car? if all you plan to do is basic i/h/e, i would suggest you get the jdm itr 4-1 with headshields and a matching cat. you can find them for relatively cheap and you cant beat it for the price.

I had an itr one with the heat shields, but sold it for $350 and got the itr 4-1 stainless copy, like I said, for $200 brand new. I wanted the stainless, and it's an exact copy, MUCH lighter, and i made $150 extra to go to my flange and o ring. (among other things.)

Ok sorry for another question (it's good to be a n00b) but what mods need to be made to the catalytic converter if I upgrade from a 2.25" to a 2.5"?

you'll need a new flange and o-ring, thats it. $50 total. www.jhpusa.com has them all day long.
