Default DIY interior swap 92 94 prelude

i think im going to attemp a full interior swap with my friends totalled prelude. his interior is in mint condition and its black while mine is blue. now the thing im wondering about is the whole dash and the air bags. is there a was to disconnect the airbags and remove them and the steering wheel without setting them off or throwing codes when plugged back in? thanks. if anyone in the CT are or close by wants to give a hand it would be appreciated as well.

Pull the airbag fuse when removing it or them.

it wont throw a airbag code or light?
actually im not even sure my car has an airbag light. im just used to them on the new cars i work on at work for dealers.
any tips on removing the dash? and is there anything i shouldnt unplug on the cluster? or any major harnesses i shouldnt unplug anywhere upfront while removing the dash?

The SRS light is usually is the top left, above the tach. I'm not sure about it throwing codes, I've never heard of that. I've disabled a few air bags before and never had any probs.

ah yea i have that, thanks. im used to one that is an airbag symbol. and throwing codes is setting off the light. its a code in the computer that only the dealer can reset to shut off the light.

You may have to do some drilling into the chassis to get the e-brake to mount up properly. There's a thread about this on preludeonline that suggests you may be able to get around it:

The whole interior is a bigass project. Save the dashboard for a time you won't need to drive your car for a couple days.

just disconnect the battery before working on the car..also you need a T30 bit to remove the airbag and take the key out of the ignition so the wheel doesn't turn and breaking the ribben cable in the colum you will be ok .
the SRS light will only stay on if you turn the key on without the airbag connected or if somthing is wrong. reseting the light is a a multistep process
