Default Car accident JUST got h22 swap

This totally sucks. I bought a 92 Prelude SI about two months ago with 160k miles on it. Threw a rod bearing and decided to get a low milage h22 motor from SHmotors online. Took two months to save up and finally get everything installed. I JUST got it back last night and spent a night over my g/f house. As i was leaving early in the morning to go to work, I was leaving at a 3 way intersection with only a stop sign where I was pulling out. Pulling out slowly but to make a left turn you have to be careful cause it's a curve thus making visbility from that area limited. It was early in the morning, foggy, with my windows fogging like crazy. The other guy didnt have his head lights on and i pulled out slightly and saw the guy in a eurovan at the last second , slammed my brakes, but it was too late.....the end results...4000$ down the drain... my whole front end was swipped off and i felt like crying.

Everything was shoved into the front driver side of the engine. Valve cover had a bad crack and I recall seeing the exhause manifold off from the bolts. I literally cried...in front of my fiance...it was harsh.. only 30k on the engine and I havent even had the chance to rip it loose.

It doesn't matter if you have full coverage or not because it was the other guy's fault. You will be able to recover the cost of the car AND any major work/repair (your swap) you have done recently. Don't let them get away with not reimbursing you for the cost of the swap. For all they know you got a new engine because yours was bad, so make sure they continue to believe that. I hope you have all your reciepts as well.

I had liability... My driving record is bad and i was paying 210$ a month just for that. This is gonna make it boost sky high now. Later on if i ever do get another car, I'm gonna try to get it under my fiance's insurance plan so hopefully it will be cheaper. Her record is clean....

But it wasn't your fault! No fault accidents will not raise your rates.

Sadly, some insurance agencies raise your rates even if the accident wasn't your fault. I'm speechless on your luck man. All I can say is that I'm sorry I know what its like to lose a car or two, but to lose it right after you got the swap done? Damn! All I can say is keep ur head up.

How was it not his fault?? It was DEFINITELY his fault since he pulled out in front of the other car. The other car was in the lane first so other cars have to yield to that person.

Anyway, that sux to hear. I was worried about wrecking my car too.

Good luck.
