Default swap

hey, i was looking into swapping the motor... i want to get a motor that would do about 160 hp stock with tranny and all that stuff to do a complete swap...

what engines should i stay away from and what should i look for?

i want a DOHC VTEC for my civic, its a 96....

and could someone please explain to me how to do a compression test and what a LSD tranny is?

could i do the swap with a couple of tools and a couple of car jacks?

also id like to keep this under 2500 if possible

thanks

http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b18cswap/swap4.php <--- look into that

also if you want atleast 160hp to the wheels then look for a B18C GSR atleast.... its 180 or so to the fly...

The b16 may be putting out 160hp to the fly but uhhh... i cant recall the dyno sheets ive seen for it in stock form to the ground...

so yeah id go with a b18 engine *vtec or not*

mm it depends... if u get a B18c/c1/c5 they are $3000 or more.. but a B18b is probably around $1500 and it has more torque than a GSR engine.. I would go with that one because is not very expenseive and it's very good to boost it or to put a vtec head on it...

A compression test is a test that show if their is some thing wrong with engine combustion chamber, like crack block, worn piston ring or piston, blown gasket and more. You need to check the spec on the engine.

LSD is the greatest thing to have if you wanna tackle the coner you get more traction on the coner and if you have a rear wheel drive car helps a lot on drifting. It hard to explain how it work, so you just have to look it up
