Default about to buy an H22A

guys im about to buy an h22

and i want to know which is a better tranny, what would be faster for the 1/4?

an H22 tranny or H23, or even F22, i keep hearing H23 is better but why and exactly how better is it?

what would the trannys run on a stock 93 prelude, h22 w/v2 intake if anyone has any clue please post it, im looking to buy this engine in the next few weeks so knowing would be awesome before i buy everything

If the H23 tranny was better, there would be no H22 tranny. Basically a H23 tranny will keep you slipping out of vtec after every upshift.

I always thought VTEC goes online at 5200 RPM, guess not.

It is about 5200. But back to the question. H22 and H23 gears are pretty much the same except the H23 has a longer 5th gear, which I doubt you'll ever get to in the 1/4. So, in turn, either one is good, H23 will save you a little gas on the highway, but nothing major. If you want good 1/4 times, make sure to get some sort of LSD, it's cheaper to buy it with the tranny.
