Default Reverse Light Woes

Blah, so 92 prelude with 95 H22 and manual tranny. The problem was that the reverse light would just stay on even when the car was not in reverese. I've replaced the reverse light switch with a autozone one and it was fine for like an hour, then the problem happened again with the new swiitch so I've had to disconnect the swtich from time to time. Sometimes, when the lights come one, you can pop the car in reverse and pop it back out and the lights go off, so I'm assuming the problem lies in the tranny itself? TIA

could also be a wiring issue. when the lights are on, get a multimeter and test the wires - wiring diagrams may help here.

It's not, I already changed it and the problem came back. It's down to a wiring issue I guess.

if the reverse light stays out when it's unpluged it's the reverse switch....get a honda one and problem will be fixed if the light comes on when unpluged it's a wiring issue
