Default H23 block = which head?

I managed to obtain an H23 block with nothing on it but the severly cracked head and valve cover. I'm wondering if I can mate a VTEC DOHC H22A to it or if I'm going to be stuck without VTEC?

Put an H22 head on it and go Frankenstein or get an H23 head and boost.

homemade H23 VTEC is considered a Frankenstein motor. You can find a lot about it if you do a few searches. Hard to get running correctly however.
