Default 1999 Honda Prelude Radiator support

I got a 1999 honda prelude and the radiator support whole right side is really messed up, along with the right light and the hood and fender. so i went ahead and bought a brand new radiator support but i was wondering if i could install it or if it would require a machanic ? i payed 400 for the radiator support and i have a machanic that will in stall it for me for 500 dollers. i really dont have a ton of money to put into the car because my son was just born but if it will require a machanic then i will figure somthing out.

any info would be great

YOu are talking about crash damage. If the "core" support is that mangled along with the fender-you want a prop to make sure the crush panels are OK-they are attached to the support, btw. The rest of the parts are generally bolt on. I would seriously consider putting the car on a frame machine to make sure that nothing else got bent-let them do the welding too.

ok. actully it was wrecked but not as bad as it sounds. i was told the frame is perfectly fine cuz the SUV was so big all it got was the hood and the right part of core radiator support and light. the front bumber is 95 percent intact. thats how tall the suv was.( that and the fact i had my prelude lowered as far as i could saftly go) : ) i bought the whole core radiator support, but i wasnt sure if i could just bolt ito n or if i would have to weld it on. but i really dont want to mess it up so might try to get the 500 bucks and have my pro. do it. but my prelude is my other baby that and my 300zx are my two fav cars and i would have to do a half @$$ job.

The damage may not appear bad and that would be good. However-it is not a bolt-in project for the core support and it must be properly aligned so that everything else fits correctly too. Good luck with it.
