Default 2001 Prelude - weird starting problems

here's the deal, My 01 with 50k on it has been having some trouble starting lately. The problem is, it's not consistent. Sometimes it will start right up, but then out of the blue, the car with take two cranks and fumble into the start. It's not a low gas tank, it's not a battery. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

omg, it's me...I have about 50k miles too...same prob (although rarely), cap, rotor, and plugs are fine. I turn the key enough to get the pump up and let it chill for a couple seconds before I turn the key all the way...that cures it. I just ordered an AEM v2 intake for my 2001 prelude too 01prelude, I'll let you know how that bad boy works on our 2001's. Late

hey, just replaced my battery and I don't have the problem anymore. Check your battery. And the v2 CAI kicks ass. Late

Yep, that's what did it on mine..... just replaced my battery back in November. Prior to that, I noticed it was taking more than the usual cranks to start her (3 when hot, 5 when cold). I just tuned it up in '03 (plugs, valve adjustment, clean and check cap and rotor), so I knew it wasn't that. Had my garage do a load test on the electrical and sure enough my battery was on its way out.
