It's amazing how people recognize every BMW model line from this IS design. To me, it looks more like the ES330 mated with the new GS and had a child. Good thing that the child looks better than both IMHO, but the rear isn't exactly picture perfect. Another plus is the interior has improved a great deal from the pics compared with the previous gen.

Next time, I should go take a new design and compare to how it looks like every conceivable Mercedes model.

Just to clear up any confusion, and to repeat myself since apparently not everyone read the first two times I said this, there is not going to be an IS350. Autoweek made a typo. There is going to be an IS300 with the same 3GR-FSE 3.0 liter 245 hp V6 as the GS300.

I like the current IS300 mostly because it doesn't look like the typical soft Lexus models. This new one is definitely design on the softside. While it doesn't look bad, it doesn't have the same attractiveness as the current IS300.

Oh, and it does look bigger. Not a good thing compared to the current IS300, IMO.

couldn't have said it better.. the current IS looks great on the outside. it's a tight, compact design. it looks sporty and aggressive, and also pretty stylish (minus the tail lights). it's too bad they lost that completely with the new design

the hood looks long, and the tail is short. the rear window/roofline is stretched really far back, just like on the new GS. i think this also contributes to the hood looking abnormally long, but i'm sure it's longer to begin with. not that any of this is a bad thing. i actually think it's kinda cool. praise the lord they didn't stick with altezza tail lights, although you never know - they might slap them on for the production model. the tail lights also look like this
