Default replacing shifter bulbs

I think my shifter light is out since I dont see it illuminated.
I never noticed if they do in fact light up. ( Not on the dash board but, to the left of the shifter itself. If there are bulbs in there can someone briefly explain to me how to replace em? Also what bulbs do i need to get to replace them.

Thanks

That's interesting. I've never noticed mine having any kind of light. I have a 5th gen. I did wonder the same thing once.

Default bulbs

Here is where you can get the bulbs.

Every automatic Accord I have owned, 89,96,99 and 02 have had a light bulb that lights up the shifter. On the 6th, all you have to do is remove the plastic trim ring around the shift console, then remove to cupholder assembly, then remove the center console trim either black or on mine woodgrain. You will see a pair of small wires going to the base of the shifter on the drivers side, twist to disconnect the light socket from the base of the shifter, replace the bulb and put everything back together.

This is what it should look like. The part # for the bulb is 35505-S30-003.
