Keyless Entry
I did do a search but did not find anything on this so I apologize if I missed it somewhere.
My question has to do with the keyless entry on my 98' V6 EX accord. I bought it about a year ago and started having problems with the remote about 4 months ago. Sometimes the unlock button works immediately but about 70% of the time it can take up to 20 seconds to work.
A co-worker who also owns a 98' said he has the same problem and that if you press the trunk button until it opens the unlock button always works immediately following. My guess is that the issue is with the car and not the remote. The remote does have a new battery. The trunk and lock key work perfectly. How do I fix this? Thank you for your help.

it just might be the remote.
i'd search ebay for a blank key fob and go from there. i can almost tell ya it's the signal that's being scrambled and it's nothing mechanical.

i had a similar problem like that a while ago.
i was standing 2 feet away from my car hitting the unlock button and it would not do anything. after hitting it for a while, all 4 doors unlocked at the same time (not the usual drivers, then rest)

how about batteries? In general, the cold will affect the ability of your remote battery to produce enough power to propagate the signal. Did you try replacing it? It's probably just a watch battery.
