rebuilt transmission cost on a 99?
I have a 99 EX v6 coupe. How much is it generally to get a transmission rebuilt?
My transmission has been acting funky ever since I hit around 100k. It kinda skips around when I de-accelerate without pressing the brakes. Seems out of gear...anyone know the cost? anyone else have this same problem?

first thing u need to do is have it scanned and roadtested by a certified rebuilder, could be a faulty sensor, possible solenoid problem. Pay attention to see if it does it when hot or cold out. Could be mechanical transmission problem or electrical problem. Cost would be around for a rebuilt anywhere from 1500 to 2800$. Phoenix Transmissions in Arizona might have a tranny for ur car, and at a reasonable price.

There wasn't a recall, but Honda kinda admitted a problem existed to a 98 AV6 owner I know personally. She was able to have her transmission rebuilt by our local dealer, Bale Honda, for around $200, HOA covered the rest.
When I tried to call and complain about my 98 I4 they didn't want to hear anything about it and turned me away. I even spoke to several reps.
Point being, mine has been slipping for 25k miles. I've even added this into my signature to reflect it.
The sad thing is, too, one of my first topics on these forums over a year ago was "what should I mod first", an overwhelming responce wanted me to get a transmission cooler. I did not. Wish I had've...

I had an automatic, which didn't stand up to my abuse.
If you have a manual and don't rag a lot, then it's not necessary, but it's a good piece of mind.
