Default Type R intake manifold for GSR?

I know someone who is getting rid of his Skunk2 Type R Intake Manifold ported 8mm-10mm. He's selling it for $175. is this worth it? would it affect my powerband over the stock skunk2 manifold?

The skunk2 intake manifold ports dont line up too well on the b18's right? i heard they are made for the b16 ports. Is it possible that he ported it to make it fit the b18c1's better?

sorry im bad at wording things

It will not bolt up to the GSR head. The bolt pattern is wrong as well as some of the sensors and throttle cable position. The only way that would work is if you got a Type R head along with a modified throttle cable and a Type R throttle body with the IAC sensor extended another 6 inches. I would just buy the GSR version of the Skunk 2 manifold. They are the same except for the hassle of the modifications needed for it to fit.

Check out www.hybridgarage.com. They swap a Type R head/manifold onto a GSR. I am telling you that the bolt pattern is different. A GSR head will not accept a Type R intake manifold and vice-versa. Everything needed will be explained on that DIY but it would be more worth your time/money to just get a GSR Skunk 2 intake manifold.

Shmoo is right, the itr skunk2 manifold will only fit on a itr or a b16 head. It will not fit on a GSR head. Just buy one for a GSR.

Exactly right, Shmoo. I think the B16A/B18C5 heads are based on a PR3 consruction (might have the wrong code there), but it is definitely different than the GSR head in respect to the intake bolt pattern.

The whole purpose of the Skunk 2 design was specifiically for the demand for a type-r intake manifold desired by GS-R owners that could not have it because it would not fit. Go with the Skunk 2.

i got a skunk2 intake on my gsr, with a honda data gasket it, get the one for your car, my studs weren't long enough so i changed the studs to longer ones, your vtec kicks in at 4500 rpms or somewhere around there, i have a problem in the power band but that is because i have cams, headers, and other mods on it, getting it dyno tunned with a vafc to fix the problem on it, don't buy the ITR one, get the one for your car, so u won't have problems, otherwise u will, cause mine is ment for my car, and i had some issues puttin it in
