Default 98 accord I4 to v6 swap...

Hey guys, i seen a V6 engine on ebay for pretty cheap, and it'll give more horses than doing the intake headers exhaust setup. I'm thinkin of getting it but will it work w/ my tranny? I currently have a I4 tranny, wondering if it would bolt on, thanks...

i dont think the engine would fit in the engine bay, the v6's are longer in the front. And im not sure about the tranny.

The V6 engine will fit but might be a pain to wire up additional accessories that are available on the V6 engine vs the 4cyl engine.

I was going to do a swap with a CL non -Type-S engine but was told it will be a pain in the ass and cost some cash.

The tranny will not bolt up as the I4 tranny sits on the left side of the engine and the 6cyl sits on the right.

trade in your car and get the V6.

the tranny won't fit
you'll have to mod the suspension to carry the extra weight
you'll need a new exhaust system
you'll need new gauges
etc ...

it's not worth it.

Thats exactly what I was going to say just get the V6 or add a turbo to the 4 cyl and be faster than the V6

Its not worth the time and money. If you want a V6, sell your I4 and get the V6.

+1 It would be too costly and too much trouble once you got started. You would probably get pissed and give up on it.
