1992 EX-R Engine Swap?
I've aquired a 1992 Honda Accord EX-R 5spd and was contemplating doing an engine swap from a normal 2.2L engine to a 1997 2.2L Vtec. Engine is going for $400CAN and i'd would also have to buy the ECU. Should I do it? I just want to know the pros and cons and if it's worth it. Also input from anybody who has done it would be appriciated. Thanks

Really, i was told that those engines were both obd1...and the H22 is out of the question, they are going for prices well out of my range here right now. Anybody now the potential of the F22A2, as in what can i add to get more hp and tourque without going turbo or supercharged. Up until recently i've been a V8 man, i know how to make a smallblock work but don't have much experience with 4cyl engines. Any imput would be nice. And BTW i guess the engine is out of a '94 if that makes a difference...

No, i wouldn't bother, your car already has 140hp, and that particular engine has 145 if i'm not mistaken, as was already said! Do the H22 swap! Its well worth it, I just did my swap in Nov, and even now i'm still amazed! I'm very happy. My old f22 took me 0-60 in 9.5 sec (5spd) and now its a tad over 6.5 on the 0-60 with my h22! Also get about 25 mpg city, and about 31 hwy! Well worth it!
