Default catalytic converter

I have a 97 Accord SE. it has 100k. how much longer should the cat last?

My cat failed at about 100,000 in my 98, put they should usually last logner then that. When you replace it, don't go to honda, get a cheap, high flow one. Honda will charge you about 800 dollars.

depends on the way your car is maintained. A misfiring car can wipe out a cat real fast. If she's burning oil thats not good for it either. hrere really is a number of variables and each car is differentT

Why not knock out the cat and run straight pipe?

my 01 accords went out about 60k but honda replace it because the cat was under warrenty

I know if you start hearing ratting when accelarating, then the cat is bad. I'm guessing you might burn a little more gas, sound louder, have a SLIGHT gain at top speed, SLIGHT loss at low end from loss of back pressure.

Just my guess though. Someone might come and try to flame.

Generally, you need a cat for emissions (inspection)...

I have a '97 SE with 156,000 miles on it, original cat, no problems.

My cat blew out like a month after I put on my GReddy full catback kit.

Bought one for like $150 from handaaccessories.com or one of the Honda specific websites.
