Okay Heres the story im drving to the mall at night when the guages light dim the tach and speedometer needles drop to zero radio shuts off and car practically dies but i can still drive it so i pull it in to parking spot. so i pull the battery out go home and charge it for 30 minutes then go back and put it in car starts and i drive it home. what do you think caused the problem.. when i described it to my friend he said its the alternator and thats what i thought to but since charging the batery work im not sure any suggestions. thanks

Take teh car to Autozone or somewhere that can diagnose it. They'll do it for free and they can tell you if it's several different things.

Yes, it could ba a number of things. Autozone can test the whole charging system with having to remove anything.
