Default Civics don't have anything that prevents outside stuff from getting into the engine?

I noticed on my old Accord, the stuff under the hood didn't look like anything ever touch it from the outside, but on my brand new Civic, after a week of rainy weather, there's like all kind of mud splatter under the hood and on the engine.

But from the looks of it, it looked like the stuff entered through the front.

:werd: or otherwise your parents may have to buy your spoiled ass some new fuses for yer' burf-day :chuckles: wipe it clean with a rag, there are alot of moving parts in that engine bay, stuff gets kicks all around, and the only place it usually has to rest is ontop of engine parts

Also wait til the engine cools down too. At least 2-3 hours after driving.

Also yes the engine needs to be exposed to the air - that's how internal combustion engines work
