Default stuck moonroof

well i was sitting in my car yesterday and kept playing with my moonroof. and somehow it will not open without a little nudge to push it up. how can i fix this so that i do not have to push it up anymore?

you might just need to grease the tracks, or see if something is jammed between the moonroof and the body of the car.

mine does the same thing too...gotta push upwards for it to lift out onto the rails.

my guess is that the rails are rusted up and need lubrication; i'll figure it out later, when it's nice & sunny.

The rubber molding is getting stuck. Mine was doing the same thing due to age and I had the molding replaced and it works fine. It's just that the old motor cannot push it up if gets even a little stuck. My works great but it might be time for a new moonroof motor. My molding around the glass had paint on it from a bad mask job on the moonroof when I had it repainted.

Yeah or just give it a little push. I have to do that sometimes. Of course a little grease wouldn't be a terribly bad idea either.

You can try using a slick type of interior dressing on the rubber, that might work.
