Default newbe maybe a stupid ?

Just got my S2k. its a 2000 and I noticed that the front and rear wheels are different widths. Could I replace with after market wheels that are same same width?

Thanks

Typically with sports cars you'll find this. Being RWD, more rubber in the rear => more traction/grip, more traction/grip => better launches, better handling, and it looks more aggressive from the rear.

Just my $.02

^ well everything I've read says these cars eat back tires. I figure if they were all the same then I could rotate them.

Not with a sports car u don't want to do that.........besides my S2000 doesn't eat tires nearly as bad as a lot of other sports cars on the road.

wow that is a bad idea... keep the tires the way they are... plus it wouldnt look "flushed" i guess.. it would just look funky... just keep it the way it is...

unless you go auto x'ing or "drift"... your tires would be fine.... its more about the actuall tire than the sizes... s02's dont last too long... proxies dont last long... my kumho's ive had em on for about 7 months and are fine... if you drive somewhat conservative i guess... hehe... they'll be fine... if you drive like a maniac then thats obvious your tires will be gone...

You can NEVER rotate these tires. They are completely different. And expect to change them almost every 15k miles. I think I paid about $250 or so per tire. My rears were down through the steel belts with normal driving at 15-20k

Yep just one of the joys of owning a RWD car with a staggered wheel setup.

Both of my parents own Kompressor Mercedes benz...one of them the SLK roadster and the other the C230coupe. The Roadster has a good bit of stock camber and also...larger rear Rubber....its just part of owning a rwd sports/roadster type car. The S2k and SLK are hardly compairable on most grounds...but I have experience with such a problem...I would suggest keeping things like they are
