Default Speaker sizes:Civic

just wondering what are the stock civic speakers sizes on my 98 civic si(canada)/ex(u.s.a)?

i'm guessing 6.5's in the front and 6x9's in the rear. just want to make sure.

also are speakers just basically plug and play? i'm a newb

you are correct. aftermarket speakers will not just plug in youll need to splice new connectors in if you are going to use the stock wiring.

what you mean by splice new connectors? have any websites or examples showing this?

buy the speakers you want to put in and it will be self explanitory. if not then youre hopeless and should have a professional do it anyways.

If you're gonna trash your stock speakers, u can pry the connectors off of them and wire them to your new speakers. Then it's plug n play with the stock wiring. If u got the cash flow, u can go to an electronics store and buy the real oem adapter connectors.

most new speakers come with adapters. atleast mine did....

be aware though, to fit most aftermarket 6.5"s into the stock speaker pocket, you're going to have to do a bit of cutting....at least dremeling out the plastic back of the speaker pod
