Default Long Rods :D

I read somewhere that longer rods equals more torque. Is this true?

causes a higher compression ratio, so yea, more HP and more toque, i think

::
the stroke stays the same because that is dependent on the crankshaft, so a longer rod basically pushes the piston higher up in the clyinder, causing higher compression

a longer rod with a stock crank will push the piston out of the cylinder. if you get longer rods you'll need a shorter throw crank or custom pistons. sleeving and boring is better than stroking if you want to up displacement.

Longer rods have nothing to do with torque.

They can lessen the side loading on the cylinder wall by the piston, but by themselves are not a power-adding mod.

Also as mentioned, a rod that doesn't match the stroke or piston, will not physically work in the engine.

Also as mentioned, there are much safer ways to try and increase your CR than playing with rod length.

Unless you get the weld a deck plate atop the block.

Yeah, unless you are going all out and building an all-motor machine with a nice S-R ratio.
