i'm assuming the tail lights right??
Ive heard most people cut, break, smash it or what not, and get all the pieces out...
you can also heat the adhesive that holds the lens on, take the lens off and just un-clip the amber thing..

i made a hole in the back and pulled it out. covered the hole with some reflective tape. i used a regular drill. a dremel would be a lot better! h:

when my friend and i did it to his 5th gen we tried to bang at it and break it with a screwdriver. it didn't break and instead just popped out of place... then since he was too lazy to try and other options, we sat there with plier trying to break the amber into little pieces. amber was broken but the inside of the lights were scratched up pretty good. looked pretty good from the outside tho....

Dont worry about the chrome in the inside of them, it doesnt matter if you scratch all of it off.
I used a dremmel with the dremel flex attachment and a 1/4" round tungsten cutter. Just cut cut cut and pull with needle nose pliars
40 minutes for first side,
20 minutes for second side after you know what you are doing

I did mine. Used the dremmel method. Shavings got on the other side of the lense so were a ***** to remove. Got as much of them out as I could. Smoked the middle lense after w/ some Transparent Paint. Matches my headlights and look great.
