OBD OBD1 and OBD2 are all the different electronics on different generations of motors. For example, most 88-91 civics are OBD and 90-93 Accords OBD1, then 5th gens and up are mostly all OBD2. If you are doing a motor swap and the new motor is a different OBD then you have to convert the electronics on the wiring harness, distributor, injectors, and wiring at the ECU.

Actually half the 5 gen accords are obd1. The 94 (mine) and 95 are obd1, everything up is obd2. obd stands for on board diagnostics (i think). Not sure exactly what it does but I know obd1 is more mod friendly.

well the jdm 92-96 prelude is OBD1 and i think the 97-01 lude is OBD2 so your best bet is too look into the newer JDM lude motor. But it may take some patience because the OBD1 version is the most popular

well there is no advantages other than making the motor work with your electronics and pricing, you have to take it to a shop but i think you are looking at around 200-250 if you leave a harness at a shop and they re wire everything, not counting the injectors distributor and ecu you have to get. so its pretty pricey
