Default How to add MTF to transmission, driving me nuts!

Hi guys,

I don't know if I am doing it correctly but I am following the manual though.
I need to know how to add Manual Transmission fluid into my 1996 Accord.

The manual says just jack up the right side of the car (passenger side), remove the wheel, loose the bolt, and use a long neck funnel and add MTF until it's oozing out of the fill hole. However, when I tried to do it it always come out of the fill hole?? Am I doing something wrong? should the car be like level meaning to jack up both sides or something?

Can you guys share with me how you guys drain and fill the MTF fluid? Thank you so much.

Find out how many quarts you need, then take out your vss and just fill the tranny up with fluid from there.

the Dipstick for the tranny fluid is where i pour mine into.
I use a long neck funnel and pour it through the dipstick port.

Most manual trannys don't have dipsticks. You add thru the fill hole, until it pours out. And yes, it DOES make a difference when the car's not level.

Some people like to take out the vehicle-speed-sensor (VSS) from the tranny, pour the oil in there, while watching for it to begin coming out the proper fill hole. Then put the plug in the fill hole & put the VSS back in.

not to sound stupid but u drained the old fluid right? if you just try pouring new fluid while the old shit is in there, of course its going to overflow...lol

but i used a long funnel and jammed it in there. remember, to use only honda mtf, it works so much better.

vss is the vehicle speed sensor its on top of the tranny towards the firewall

i take out the filler bolt on the side and fill it by taking out the reverse light sensor and filling it from there until it overflows from the filler hole.

Okay, I decided it's probably easier to take out the VSS and fill it form there like so many people have suggested. Now, where is this VSS thing? I spend like an hour poking around the top of the tranny but couldn't find it. F$#K!!!
I must be stupid, what does VSS look like?
