they had a article with diy block posting.. i wanted to know whats the theory behind it? what good does it do to your engine?

It's a relatively cheap way to allow for more boost (if you do it correctly) that will not hinder coolant flow inside the block like a blockguard would. It involves threading posts through the block just enough to touch the exterior of the cylinder wall. The idea is to support the cylinders during periods of high load.
