Default I need some help on picking a new engine

Hey every one, I picked up a 90 civic hatch not too long ago and it has the sohc non vtec, I need some help with picking a new engine for it i dont know if i should go b16 or if any better ones out their. If any one could help me that would be great .

cheaper whay build a ls vtec with b18 block b16 head and b16 pistons u will make almost the same http://www.g2ic.com/tegtips/engine/6.html

u could get a ls motor complete swap 800 and a b16a long block 800 that is what im doing in my old school teg just got the b16a long block today

'93 isn't old school.

If you want to scoot pretty good, get a B18A or B16A swap. If you really want to haul ass, go for a B18C/C1.

I might consider getting a b18b1, which is the base integra engine, and then getting a turbocharger... The engine would be cheaper than a b18c5 ITR, and you'd be arguably just as fast...

its really depends on how much you know about hondas/honda engines....if you know a good amount i would build a ls vtec like mentioned above...ls block and a b16a head...then id throw either toda or Je forged pistons and forged rods in it...maybe throw a gsr crank in...get some lower end machine work done to the block also...

but if you dont feel like embarking on that big of a project yet i would buy a JDM GsR engine....those motors are very potent power plants and by just throwing some basic bolt ons like intake, header, exhaust, short shifter....then you might have money left do throw some tien coilovers on and sway bars and strut bars, good luck pm me if u want some help...
