accord motor problem
I have a 2000 Accord EX and it is burning oil majorly. But I dont see any leaks, or smell anything burning. My engine bay is very clean. I checked my oil level tonight, its been about 2,800 miles since my last oil change and the dipstick came up almost empty. Im running Mobil 1 5w-30 oil with K&N oil filters. A motor this new shouldnt be burning through 4 quarts of oil between changes. Something must be wrong, but everything looks OK. Please post comments or suggestions. Im going to have a mechanic look at it in a few days. IM guessings its a gasket or seal, but I want to get a heads up as to what it might be and what would cause this on a 4yr old motor. Thanks guys.

What kind of mods do you have done to your car specifically?
I honestly can't think of anything that would cause a 4-year old motor to burn oil that badly unless something was defective or there was major stress on the motor.
I would assume a defect would have appeared before now, that's why I ask what mods you have done

The only engine mod i have is an AEM short ram intake. I got the car used back in October of 03. And everything appears to be fine. The car still runs great, but i checked last night and I had almost no oil left after only 2,800 miles. I drive fast, but i dont think any beating would cause a new motor to loose oil that fast.
